The goal was assisted by Jason Spezza and Chris Kelly.

Norfolk answered with a goal of their own 32 seconds later as Travis Moen put home a shot from Mikhail Yakubov and James Wisniewski at 10:42 of the first.

Binghamton was able to jump back out front 5:04 into the second period as Jason Spezza put home his first of two goals on the evening. Bochenski and defenseman Brian Pothier were given the helpers.

Once again Norfolk bounced right back to tie the game at two goals a piece. Captain Ajay Baines took advantage of a two-man power play when he put home a goal that was set up Rene Bourque and Duncan Keith. The goal was scored at 7:15 of the second period.

B-Sens captain Chris Kelly was not about to let Baines steal the show as he notched a short-handed goal a mere 13 seconds later in the second, putting Binghamton up 3-2. Kelly found himself alone streaking down the left wing and was able to beat Norfolk goaltender Michael Leighton low on the near side. The goal was assisted by Pat Kavanagh.

Jason Spezza put home a short-handed tally of his own, his second goal of the night, at 15:32 of the second period. Chris Kelly was credited with the helper. Spezza’s goal made it a 4-2 Binghamton lead.

The Senators came out of the gate strong in the third period as Charlie Stephens found the back of the net 1:39 into the final frame. Spezza and Kelly were again credited with the assists as they tied the franchise record for most points in a game with four.

Norfolk tried to stage a comeback with just less than five minutes to go in the game when Nick Kuiper notched a goal that was set up by Ajay Baines. The time of the goal was 15:22 of the third period.

Binghamton outshot Norfolk 21-6 in the first period but the final shot count would show a much smaller difference. In the end, Binghamton outshot the Admirals 37-35.

The Senators finished the game 0 for 10 with the man advantage while Norfolk was 1 for 4.

B-Sens goaltender Ray Emery made 32 saves on 35 shots while Michael Leighton had 32 saves on 37 shots for the Admirals.

The Sens are in action at home again Saturday night as they welcome the Manitoba Moose to town for the first of two meetings at the Arena this season. The game is scheduled for a 7:05 face-off with Countdown to Face-off kicking off at 6:35 on 680 AM WINR. The Zooperstars will also be at the Arena on Saturday night and there is an open skate following the game.
