January 31, 2025 - by Bob Howard - BinghamtonHockey.net The Binghamton Black Bears and the Columbus River Dragons will meet for the first team this season and first time in almost two years here at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton. All time vs. the River Dragons, the Black Bears are 4-3-1 in 8 meetings. The last time the two teams met was in April of 2023, where the Black Bears defeated the River Dragons, 5-3. The Black Bears see the return of Tyson Kirkby who missed the last 6 games due to a call up to the ECHL, even though he was claimed on waivers by the Worcester Railers HC, Tyson decided to play this weekend with the Black Bears. The Black Bears are coming off a three game sweep of the Mississippi Sea Wolves and extended their winning streak to 8 games. The River Dragons played to a split with the Athens Rock Lobsters last weekend and were shut out on Saturday 1-0.
