January 19, 2025 - by Bob Howard - BinghamtonHockey.net The Binghamton Black Bears and the HC Venom will face-off this afternoon at 3 PM in Poughkeepsie, NY for the first time at the McCann Ice Arena in what will be the 5th game of the season between the two Empire Division foes. This will be the only game today in the FPHL and as it is scheduled now the only game the Black Bears will play in the McCann Arena this season. The Black Bears are 4-0-0 this season against the HC Venom who did start off the season as the Hudson Valley Venom when they did play in Newburgh, NY. The last game between the two teams was on December 31, 2024 in Binghamton and the Black Bears got the 7-2 win in front of a sold out crowd on the yearly traditional game for the city of Binghamton. The Black Bears were in action last night hosting the Watertown Wolves, in which the Black Bears scored a 4-2 comeback as the team was held scoreless in both the first and second periods for the first time this season. Nolan Egbert saved 25 of 27 shots he faced in his 10th win of the season. The Venom who were off on Friday and Saturday this weekend last played and beat the Wolves in Watertown last Saturday by the score of 6-4.
