December 31, 2024 - By Bob Howard - Binghamton Hockey.net The Binghamton Black Bears and the HC Venom will play in the 44th game to be played at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, NY on New Years Eve. Binghamton Hockey teams are 28-16-2-1 through 47 games played on the final day of the year with 4 games being on the road. The Black Bears have won all three games against the Venom this season. The two teams will be short some key players tonight. The Black Bears will likely not see Kyle Stephan, Cameron Clark and Khaden Henry due to injury. The Venom will not have Dustin Jesseau tonight due to suspension and likely no Eimantas Noreika due to personal reasons. The Venom may not even dress the allowed 17 players unless they sign someone later today. The Black Bears are looking on New Years Eve for their 20th win of the season and to extend their 6 game winning streak. This is also the return to Binghamton, NY for it's native son, Mj Maerkl who is now head coach of the Venom and played 48 games for the Black Bears from 2021-23.
