               <font size="2" face="Courier New">August 28, 2004</font></b><p align="center"><b><font size="2" face="Courier New"><font color="#FF0000">Posted by: <a href="mailto:bob@binghamtonhockey.net">Bob Howard</a><br> Credit: </font>Brian Moritz of <a href=http://www.pressconnects.com>Press Connects.com</a></font></b><p align="center"><b><font size="2" face="Courier New">Arena to host light-hearted hockey exhibition <BR> <BR> BY BRIAN MORITZ <BR> <BR> Press &amp; Sun-Bulletin <BR> <BR> BINGHAMTON -- Dave Hadasz' favorite movie is Slap Shot. <BR> <BR> It was while watching the comedy classic two years ago that the idea first popped in his head to create a team that accentuates the fun side of hockey. <BR> <BR> The New York Blades is the result. <BR> <BR> The Blades, who call themselves &quot;hockey's version of the Harlem Globetrotters,&quot; are scheduled to play 6 p.m. Oct. 10 at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. <BR> <BR> &quot;There will be heavy interaction with the fans,&quot; Hadasz said at a Friday afternoon press conference at the Arena introducing the team. &quot;It will be fun for the whole family.&quot; <BR> <BR> The Blades are a team made up of former minor-league, college and junior hockey players -- many of whom have acting experience. They will play a unit named the Death Valley Vultures (the Washington Generals of this tour). <BR> <BR> The games will include player introductions featuring lasers, fireworks and flame projectors, as well as on-ice skits. <BR> <BR> Hadasz declined to give a preview of the action. <BR> <BR> &quot;We can't give too much away,&quot; Hadasz said. &quot;There will be antics during the game, during face-offs and between periods. There will always be something going on.&quot; <BR> <BR> Tickets are $24 for adults, $12 for kids 12-and-under, and go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday at the Arena box office and all Ticketmaster locations. Children ages 2-and-under will be admitted free.</font></b>
