Black Bears To Play 11 of 13 Possible Opponents In 24/25 Season

BINGHAMTON, NY - The Binghamton Black Bears and the Federal Prospects Hockey League unveiled the 2024-25 regular season schedule today. The Black Bears will play a 56 game regular season, playing 28 games on the road and 28 games in the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena. The defending Commissioner’s Cup champions will play 11 of the other 13 FPHL hockey teams, only not playing the Monroe Moccasins and the Baton Rouge Zydeco. 
| Black Bears will start their season on the road, Oct 11th in Watertown. | The Black Bears will start the season on the road on October 11th, 2024 in Watertown, NY playing the 1st of 8 match-ups against the Watertown Wolves. Binghamton’s home opener will be the following night, Saturday, October 12th as the Black Bears will hoist a championship banner into the rafters near the 2011 Calder Cup Championship banner. The Black Bears will host the Watertown Wolves in the 2nd game of the home and home series vs. the Wolves. Saturday night will be ‘Hockey Night’ in Binghamton with 15 of the Black Bears home games being played on the very important weekend night. Not to be out done, the Black Bears play 11 games on Friday night’s this season with only 2 games not being played on Friday or Saturday night in Binghamton. The Black Bears host their two traditional holiday games this season which do not fall on Friday and Saturday. The Black Bears host the Watertown Wolves on Wednesday, November 27th in the night before Thanksgiving game. The Hudson Valley Venom will be at the Arena on Tuesday, December 31st in the longest running holiday game in Binghamton on News Years Eve. The Black Bears will play three teams this season in their barns, but not at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena. Near the end of the seasons, the Black Bears will play the new team in Athens, Georgia the Athens Rock Lobsters, a back to back affair on Thursday, April 3rd and Friday, April 4th. In March, the Black Bears will play three games at the newly named Hitachi Energy Arena where the Blue Ridge Bobcats call home, a 3 games in 3 nights from March 7th to March 9th. The Black Bears will also travel to Biloxi to place face-off against the Mississippi Sea Wolves in a 3 games in 3 nights starting January 24th and concluding on January 26th. The two series vs. Blue Ridge and Mississippi on the road are the only two 3 games in 3 nights this season for the Black Bears. The Columbus River Dragons returns to the Black Bears schedule this season making three trips to Binghamton this season. The Black Bears Cup opponent from last season, the Carolina Thunderbirds will be in Binghamton on Saturday, March 15th in the only match-up between the two finalists. The Black Bears will play 44 of their 56 game schedule vs. their Empire Division foes. They will see the Danbury Hat Tricks 10 times, 4 at home and 6 in the Danbury Ice Arena. The Black Bears and the Hudson Valley Venom will square off 9 times this season 5 times in Binghamton and 4 times at the Ice Time Sports Complex in Newburgh, NY. The Wolves and the Black Bears see each other 8 times, splitting the home and away equally at 4 games a piece. Binghamton and Dashers Hockey will play 6 times this season, the Dashers coming to the Arena 4 of the 6 games and the Black Bears returning the favor only twice. The Port Huron Prowlers will play in Binghamton 4 times in a 6 game series with the Black Bears and the Motor City Rockers will come to Binghamton for 3 contests and the Black Bears will play at the Big Boy Arena in two contests. The Black Bears final regular season game will be played home vs. the Hudson Valley Venom on April, 12th and will complete the Black Bears 4th season the FPHL.
