Emery Back With the B-Sens

The Ottawa Senators today returned goaltender Ray Emery to the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Emery, in his sixth recall of the season, joined the team March 28 to serve as back-up for Martin Prusek in the last four games. Patrick Lalime had been out of the line-up due to a left knee injury.

The Hamilton native replaced Prusek twice over the past four game, coming in the second period against the Florida Panthers (March 31, 5-4 win) to earn the win by stopping 15 of 16 shots. Emery also took over from Prusek in the Senators final regular season game of the season - a 6-0 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Corel Centre on Saturday. In 27:16 of play against the Leafs, he allowed three goals on eight shots.

In his three games with Ottawa this season, Emery had two wins, 126 minutes played, a 2.38 goals-against average and a 0.904 save-percentage.

Emery has played in 49 of Binghamton’s 76 games this season, recording 20 wins, 22 losses and five ties for a 2.54 goals-against-average and a 0.919 save-percentage.

The Binghamton Senators currently sit fifth in the East division with an 33-33-7-3 record. The Senators have four games remaining on their schedule, including a 5:05 p.m. match today in Philadelphia against the division-leading Phantoms.
