After looking to his right, Giroux buried his second of the night and 18th of the season between the pads of Sebastien Caron at 9:32.

The Sens opened the scoring on their first shot on goaltender Caron (29 saves) with a power play goal eleven minutes into the contest with Darcy Robinson in the box for tripping.

Julien Vauclair, who leads the Sens with 17, sent a wrister towards the net that Denis Hamel got a piece of for his team-leading 22nd goal of the season giving Binghamton a 1-0 advantage.

Outshooting the Sens 7-0 before that goal, the Pens then went on the offensive to net three straight against Emery (38 saves) enroute to outshooting the home team 16-3 in the opening period.

Goals by Toby Petersen, Marquis Mathieu, and Colby Armstrong in a 4:50 span lifted the Pens to a 3-1 lead after twenty minutes.

Petersen’s goal was the prettiest, taking a cross ice feed and busting down the slot before getting Emery to commit before slipping the puck around the left leg of Emery at 14:05 to tie the game at one.

The Penguins outshot the Senators 42-32.

Binghamton clicked twice on four power play chances while killing off all five Penguins man-up opportunities.

The loss was the club’s third straight and allowed the Penguins to pull to within two points of the fifth place Senators in the race for the final playoff berth in the East Division.
