SENATORS RETURN GOALKEEPER RAY EMERY TO BINGHAMTON

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today returned goalkeeper Ray Emery to the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Emery, in his third recall of the season, joined the team Tuesday to serve as back-up for Patrick Lalime in the Senators 4-2 loss to the Canadiens in Montreal. Martin Prusek, who had the 6-3 win over the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Sunday, was out of the line-up due to a left knee injury.

The Hamilton native has made one start for Ottawa this season, making 27 saves in a 6-1 win against Chicago on Dec. 18.

Emery has played in 39 Binghamton’s 58 games this season, recording 18 wins, 15 losses and five ties for a 2.29 goals-against-average and a 92.6 save-percentage. Teammate Billy Thompson has seen action in 23 games and holds a 8-11-1 record.

The Binghamton Senators currently sit fifth in the East division with an 26-24-6-2 record. This week, the Senators host Wilkes-Barre tonight before heading to Norfolk for a pair of games against the Admirals Friday and Saturday.
