               <font size="2" face="Courier New">February 22, 2004</font></b><p align="center"><b><font size="2" face="Courier New"><font color="#FF0000">Posted by: <a href="mailto:bob@binghamtonhockey.net">Bob Howard</a><br> Credit: </font><a href=http://www.telegram.com>Worcester Telegram &amp; Gazette</a>  </font></b><p align="center"><b><font size="2" face="Courier New">Worcester Telegram &amp; Gazette <BR> <BR> Binghamton 2, Providence 1 <BR> <BR> The Associated Press <BR> <BR> BINGHAMTON, N.Y.- Ray Emery stopped 32 shots and Rob Ray scored his first pro goal since 2001 to lift the Binghamton Senators over the Providence Bruins 2-1 in the AHL Saturday night. <BR> <BR> Providence center Andre Savage scored with 3:30 left in regulation to stop Emery's shutout streak at 167:21, eight seconds shy of his personal best. <BR> <BR> Arpad Mihaly, a winger playing on a tryout contract, gave Binghamton the lead at 15:24 of the first period by sliding a shot underneath Providence goalie Hannu Toivonen (20 saves). <BR> <BR> Ray redirected Andy Hedlund's power-play point shot past Toivonen for the 2-0 lead at 16:16 of the second. Ray, a 14-year NHL veteran signed to a free agent contract last week by the Ottawa Senators, was sent to Binghamton on a five-game conditioning stint. <BR> <BR> The Senators started the game with just 14 skaters, but lost one in the first period after Alexandre Giroux was given a game misconduct for not having his sweater tied down in a fight with Providence's Pat Leahy.</font></b>
