               <font size="2" face="Courier New">March 19, 2005</font></b><p align="center"><b><font size="2" face="Courier New"><font color="#FF0000">Posted by: <a href="mailto:bob@binghamtonhockey.net">Bob Howard</a><br> Credit: </font><a href=http://www.binghamtonsenators.com>Binghamton Senators.com</a>  </font></b><p align="center"><b><font size="2" face="Courier New">Sens defeated in shootout <BR> <BR> Binghamton SenatorsThe Binghamton Senators dropped their second straight shootout on Friday night 3-2 to the visiting Hershey Bears before a sell out crowd of 4,710 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. <BR> <BR> Hershey flew out of the gate and put together a two-goal lead mid-way through the opening period with goals by Ryan Steeves and defenseman Martin Wilde. <BR> <BR> Binghamton was able to cut the lead to 2-1 thanks to a power-play tally by Brian Pothier. Jason Spezza and Antoine Vermette picked up the assists on the goal. <BR> <BR> The Sens tied the game 6:39 into the second period when Chris Neil picked up his first goal since joining the club March 2nd. <BR> <BR> The two teams skated to a scoreless third period followed by a scoreless overtime period and headed into a shootout. <BR> <BR> Brett Clark scored a goal on the Bears’ ninth shot and Denis Hamel was denied on the Senators final attempt as Hershey escaped with the bonus point in the East Division standings. <BR> <BR> Both goaltenders played well as Billy Thompson stopped 39 of 41 shots for the Sens and Hershey’s Peter Budaj turned away 43 of 45 offerings. <BR> <BR> Binghamton was 1 for 3 on the power play while the Bears finished the contest 0 for 6 with the man advantage. <BR> <BR> The Sens are back in action on Saturday night as they welcome the Philadelphia Phantoms to town for a 7:05 p.m. tilt. It will be Hall of Fame Night with Don Biggs, Dallas Gaume and Brad Jones being inducted into the Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fame in a pre-game ceremony.</font></b>
