It is the first time in four games that either team has won in the opposing arena this season.

Binghamton came out strong in the first tallying two goals and, fortunately for the Crunch, a few posts. Brad Tapper (3) was cutting to the front of the net, when a Brooks Laich pass found his stick from behind the net, to tally the first goal of the game at the 1:39 mark.

Jeremy Reich (5) put a back-handed shot off a Tim Jackman pass from the corner, past goaltender Ray Emery at the 16:14 mark to even the score. Chris Kelly (10) beat goaltender Pascal Leclaire with a short-handed goal on a break-away to give the Senators the edge before the end of the period.

The second period played better to Syracuse’s advantage as the Crunch scored the only two goals through 19:57 of the 20 minutes played. Jamie Pushor’s hard work behind the net on the power play set Scott Cameron up for his first goal in a Crunch uniform. Darrel Scoville (6) gave Syracuse their first lead in the game tallying the Crunch’s second power play goal of the night on a rebound shot from Ben Knopp.

Denis Hamel (16) killed the momentum Syracuse had built during the period, tying the game with :03 left in the second period to knot the game at three.

Mike Pandolfo (6) buried a loose puck at the 14:43 mark of the third to put the Crunch up a goal. Jackman (12) iced the game at the 18:26 mark of the third with a pass from Reich.

Emery finished the night with 28 saves.

The Crunch host Toronto on Friday, January 16 and Cleveland on Saturday, January 17. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473-4444, stopping by the Oncenter box office, located on the State Street side of the War Memorial or by calling TicketMaster at (315) 472-0700.

CRUNCHABLES: Two former Crunch players appear on Binghamton’s roster, Mike Brown and Chris Leinweber… Jeremy Reich broke a nine-game goal drought tonight… Kent McDonell is on a five- game assist streak.
