KOCHAN STOPS ALL 45 BINGHAMTON SHOTS

The B-Sens unloaded a barrage of shots on Sound Tiger goalie Dieter Kochan but were denied on each chance and lost 4-0 on Thursday night before a crowd of 4,496 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

Kochan, a former B.C. Icemen goalie, stopped all 45 shots that he faced and the Sound Tigers scored four times in the final 10 minutes of the second period to avoid their sixth straight loss at the Arena.

Jim Campbell scored first at 10:22 of the middle session. Defenseman Bruno Gervais tallied his fourth goal of the season at less than three minutes later to put the Sound Tigers up 2-0.

Rob Collins and Ryan Caldwell then scored power-play goals only 45 seconds apart to finish the night’s scoring. The Collins goal came on a five-on-three advantage for Bridgeport and was his team-leading 15th of the season.

Ray Emery stopped 16 of 20 Bridgeport shots before being replaced by Billy Thompson after the second intermission. Emery had not given up a goal in 103 minutes and 48 seconds of action before Campbell's tally. Thompson stopped all five shots he faced.

Kochan won his second game of the season against the Senators and his ninth overall.

The Senators outshot Bridgeport 45 to 25. Binghamton has outshot their opponents in five straight games.

Binghamton’s league-leading power play was 0 for 7 while Bridgeport converted on 2 of 3 opportunities.
