Marc Busenburg picked up that power-play goal but was quickly countered by Josh Langfeld’s second power-play tally of the evening at 14:50 of the second to give the Sens a 5-1 lead. Langfeld picked up three points in the contest with both of his goals coming on the power-play and assisting on Denis Hamel’s early second period goal.

Binghamton’s seven goals set a new season high but fell just two short of the franchise record which was set on February 13, 2003 in a 9-0 rout of the St. John’s Maple Leafs in a game that was played at the Corel Centre in Ottawa, ON.

Billy Thompson was solid in net for the Sens stopping 20 of 21 shots while Eklund made 27 saves on 34 shots in the loss for the Falcons.

Binghamton was 3 for 6 on the power play while Springfield was 1 for 6.

The Sens return to action on Saturday night as they travel to Worcester, MA for a 7:05pm tilt with the Ice Cats. You can catch all of the action on 680-AM WINR beginning at at 6:35pm with the Countdown to Faceoff with Grady Whittenburg.
