| The Binghamton Black Bears (6-1-0) defeated the Hudson Valley Venom (1-3-1) in Newburgh, NY in a game that went to the shoot-out by the score of 5-4. The games first goal came while the Venom's Blake Siewertsen was in the penalty box for hooking Blake Tosto, the captain Tyson Kirkby scored on the power play at the 7:26 mark of the first period. The Black Bears struggles on the penalty kill continue as Dakota Bohn sat in the box for cross-checking, the Venom get a power play game tying goal from Siewertsen 5:23 into the period. Siewertsen scores his second goal of the period and the game, this time short-handed as the Venom were a man down for their third delay of the game penalty, all clearing chances over the glass. The Black Bears respond just as the Venom penalty ended with Zac Sirota's first goal of the season, tying the game up at 2 with 4:05 left to go in the middle period. The Black Bears then get a very late power play goal as Dan Wieber took a booming shot from the blue-line hitting off of the goal scorer's leg of Tyson Kirkby, sending the Black Bears to the 2nd intermission with a 3-2 lead. Just 2 minutes and 9 seconds into the final period, the Venom tie the game after a Belov Danila goal making this a 3-3 game. With Sirota in the penalty box for interference, the Venom score their fourth goal of the game and 2nd on the power play to take the 4-3 lead with 5:31 left to go in the game. The Black Bears Cameron Clark was not ready to end this game with a Venom lead as he scored with 1:45 left in the game to knot this game up at 4. No scoring in the overtime period led the two teams to their first shoot-out of the season where Cameron Clark becomes the hero again with his first shoot-out goal of his career and Connor McAnanama saves all 3 shooters he faced and the Black Bears get the 5-4 win. |
