MINI RECAP
The Binghamton Black Bears (46-5-1) defeated the Danbury Hat Tricks (30-14-8) in Danbury thanks to a Zac Sirota 1st period goal, sweeping the weekend. The Black Bears didn't take long to get on the scoreboard first with Austin Thompson's 3rd goal of the weekend just 3:24 into the opening period. Just as a Frolov penalty ended, the Black Bears were in deep in front of Connor McCollum and Kyle Stephan tapped in a rebound off a Jesse Anderson shot to make this a 2-0 game at the 12:48 mark of the 1st period. Zac Sirota then scored his 12th goal of the season to put the Black Bears up 3-0 nothing with 6:18 left to go in the period. With Dan Wieber still in the penalty box on the major penalty, Connor Woolley scored the Hat Tricks first goal of the game 2:17 into the middle period. Nicholas Swain scored his 4th goal of the season in just 5 games played with the Black Bears making this a 3 goal lead again for the visiting team at the 7:36 mark. Just 4:32 into the final period, the Hat Tricks pull this game to within 2 goals as Aleksandr Vasilyev scored his 2nd goal of the weekend against the Black Bears making this a 4-2 game. Austin Thompson sealed the deal with an empty net goal scoring his 2nd of this game, his 4th goal of the weekend giving the Black Bears a 5-2 win and winning their 46th win of the season.
