MINI RECAP
The Binghamton Black Bears (45-5-1) defeated the Danbury Hat Tricks (30-13-8) in front of a sell-out crowd in at the Arena by the score of 6-3. The Black Bears and the Hat Tricks went scoreless in the 1st period. The Hat Tricks got on the scoresheet first with a goal from Aleksandr Vasilyev just 1:55 into the middle period. Chase Harwell gets the Hat Tricks 2nd goal of the game at the 6:15 mark of the 2nd period putting the Empire Division's 2nd place team up 2-0 over the Black Bears. Dan Wieber scored his 2nd goal of the season just 56 seconds after the Harwell getting the Black Bears to within 1 goal at the 7:11 mark. The Black Bears tied the game with Chris Mott's 13th goal of the season at tht 16:32 mark of the period. With Kyle Stephan in the box for interference, Austin Thompson scored his 30th goal of the season putting the Black Bears up over the Hat Tricks with 1:57 left to go in the 2nd period. Just 3:30 into the 3rd period, after CJ Stubbs stole a puck in the neautral zone and carried it in all alone, his slap shot beat McCollum for the Black Bears 4th goal of the game. Austin Thompson scored his 2nd goal of the game 10:29 into the final period making this a 5-2 game. Then Cameron Clark scored the Black Bears 6th goal of the game with 4:15 left to go in the game. Jonny Ruiz made it a 3 goal game with just 3:28 to go but the Black Bears held it down the rest of the way, winning their 6th game in a row and their 45th game of the season, 6-3.
