Binghamton Ends 2024 With a Bang

MINI RECAP
The Binghamton Black Bears (20-3-1) defeated the Hockey Club Venom (6-10-0) in front of a sell out crowd in Binghamton on New Years Eve by the score of 7-2. The Black Bears get on the score board first with a tally from Gavin Yates who got an unassisted goal just 4:51 into the game. The Captain Tyson Kirkby then scored the games second goal of the game, also unassisted at the 12:56 mark making this a 2-0 game. However the story of the night happened 5:55 into the second period as Tyson Kirkby and Cameron Cervone were in the penalty box for the Black Bears and Dakota Bohn scored his first goal of the season, a 5 on 3 short-handed goal, his second 5 on 3 short-handed goal of his career. Not to be out done, Tyson Kirkby scored his second goal of the game, also short-handed 15 seconds into the final period. Dakota Bohn then scored a power play goal, scoring his 2nd goal of the game at the 8:16 mark making this a 5-0 lead for the Black Bears. The Venom then got on the score sheet with a goal ten seconds after the Bohn power play goal making this a 5-1 game off the stick of Dzianis Zaichyk. The Venom scored their second goal of the game off the stick of Danila Belov just 2:37 later pulling the score to a 5-2. However with Mark Pozsar in the box for tripping, the Don Father, Donald Oliveri scored the Black Bears second power play goal of the game with 5:56 left to go in the game. Finishing the scoring in the game, Khaden Henry scored the Black Bears 7th goal with 4:37 left to go in the game securing a 7-2 win for the Black Bears, their 7th win in a row and 20th of the season.
