| The Binghamton Black Bears (2-1) defeated the Port Huron Prowlers (1-2) to advance to the Commissioner's Cup Finals after a second straight shutout by Connor McAnanama who saved all 33 shots he faced. The Black Bears got on the score-board first a Dan Wieber goal, his first of the playoffs at the 2:13 mark of the 1st period. Continuing the high energy start for the Black Bears, Donald Olivieri came streaking in and scored his 2nd goal of the playoffs just 23 seconds later making this a 2-0 lead. Dan Stone then scored his 2nd goal of the playoffs at the 8:34 mark of the period making this a 3 goal lead for the Black Bears. It only took 5:49 into the middle period and the Black Bears Captain, Tyson Kirkby scored his 3rd goal of the playoffs from the high slot. The Black Bears take a 5-0 lead with 1:10 left to go in the 2nd period after Gavin Yates stole the puck in the neutral zone, carried the puck in alone and then scored a wrist shot to beat Reid Cooper. The final period went scoreless until Donald Olivieri scored an empty-net goal to cap off a 6-0 shutout and advance the Black Bears into the Commissioner's Cup Finals for the second straight season. |
